Shadows: part 3

As they arrived at the building, one unlocked the door, opened it and stated “After you”. The other very politely thanked her and entered the house, followed by the first. Once the door had been locked again, one picked up the mail, handing half to the other and starting to walk down the hallway. As it did every night when they returned, the bubble of darkness surrounded the house, hiding it from the outside. Suddenly all of the lights came on, illuminating the house. When they arrived at the lounge, they both dropped their mail and began de-gearing. All of their weapons and armour were dropped onto two trays, one each, both encrypted. Fully de-geared, they turned and headed for two doors. Each door was engraved – one said Opal and the other Tear. The girl with dark short hair opened the door engraved Opal, and the girl with the dazzling red hair opened the door entitled Tear. They looked at each other, curtsied slightly, said goodnight as if it had been a normal day and entered the doors into their own solitudes.
